Useful Tips |
| Scenic drives - by Brett from Bristol |
| If you have done the usual Highway 1 route before and you’re not in a hurry to get to Banff, then reward yourself by taking the following route from Calgary. Take Highway 1A, and take the Crowchild Trail in the northwest direction. Once outside Calgary you will be remunerated with a splendid, unobstructed panoramic view of the mountains. Shortly you will be in Cochrane, a very picturesque town with a old-west-looking downtown. From Cochrane take Highway 22 south which will take you back to Highway 1, or continue on 1A to Canmore, but this is fairly windy, and slower. |
